Jim , I had one of these days about three weeks ago. nothing was winning nothing was even running and giving me a shot?
I started asking myself WTF am I doing wrong or is it just one of those days?
I believe it was just one of those days as I had a fitting end to it just like your horse being vanned off.
I forgot what race doesn't matter but I remember telling my dad " just get the horse out of the gate and don't let the jockey fall off"
Well the gates opened and the jock didn't fall off but he had lots of horse so naturally he got pinched off just a little bit and as they were rounding into the first turn
he clipped heels with another foe and guess what?  The fucking jockey fell off
I couldn't believe it to tell you the truth so I threw my form in the garbage ,settle up the bar bill, went outside jumped in the car went home. I was bitching and screaming the whole way.
Its not and easy sport that's for sure.

Don't forget we have days when we cant lose and everything wins and nobody even knows about it

Rosie, all handicappers know that there are a zillion ways to lose at the racetrack. Thanks for the laugh about yours.

I can see me or my buddy, jerryslowball cracking up when telling such a story. Only funny if you've been there. We have. Gotta laugh or we'd never go back. Of course never going back is unthinkable. Like you said there are days we can't lose, too. Not as many as i"d like. But they sure come around. Drinks for the bar. Fat tip for the barmaid who loves us a little more. Dinner on me. Tons of laughs at my track bar win or lose. Can't have thin skin and hang at that bar. I wouldn't trade my track experiences for anything.

Well I have five more weeks of Lent. My pledge is no beer and no track. I'm drying out. So I'll probably be back next Saturday with some more lousy handicapping.

Thanks for the laugh, Rosie.

Back to desk handicapping.

Gonna try to take the show parlay to 10 races. Let's see what happens. Sharpening my skills for after Easter when I get back to the track to use it for real.

Using $20.00 ass the starting dollar amount. All show bets parlayed.

Gonna have to fill in the numbers as I get them. Results that I get are delayed.

2nd race in the parlay. Make this the first race in the second parlay sequence. Buddy just called me and said my horse ran out in the 2nd at Gulf.

Wow. This is a lot tougher than I thought it would be. the #3 ran out at Gulf.

So I'm down $40.00 already (fictional). Will start again with my 3rd $20.00 starter.

Be back.

Winner. 2.10.

21.00 to bet on next race.

Just took a few to watch Arrogate in Dubai. What a race. What a horse. Very, very, very special.
