I know the whole idea of playing the spread and over/under is that it gets you even money, but I’d like to hear people’s opinions about buying points.

For example: if a O/U line is set at 40 and I buy 10 points to set the line at 30, then pick Over. Those 10 points change my pay outs from close to even money to just under 1/3rd, but the bet itself is potentially a lot ‘safer’.
 
I’d just like to hear what people think. Pros, Cons, etc, etc.
