Team Talksport turned in a 4-6 performance last night as the NBA's main money maker (Lebron) turned in "one of the greatest performances in NBA Playoffs history" to down the Pistons in double overtime (well at least that's the way Marv Albert saw it).  I guess if you're a fan of selfish basketball, it was a pretty awesome show.    I'll be the first to admit that I misread the game completely, but I still don't think much of this Cavs team....Lebron scored 48 and the rest of the team scored 61 through regulation and 2 OT's.  That's not a recipe for success if you ask me (remember Jordan in the late 80's).  Alright, I'll get off the pulpit now.  Have a great day guys.

No games tonight, but these two teams pick it up again on Saturday so post your winner below!

Yesterday's Winning Crew:
ezdusit (2) - Cavs (Nice Call!)
over/under to all (3) - OVER (Great decision to change the POD)
the crack pipe (not) (2) - Cavs (Mr. Consistent!)
Justabettor (9) - Cavs (Great job, JAB! Keep that streak alive!)

How should I put this into words; well let me just borrow this quote.
"If you can't beat them, mind as well JOIN them!"

It’s time to pull out the old classic 1970 Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young album titled Déjà vu and pick a line out of the song with the record’s title that says “We have all been here before, we have all been here before.” It’s been 380 days since Cleveland was hosting Detroit in a Game Six playoff game, leading the series three games to two, after winning on the Pistons home court by two points. If this all sounds eerily familiar, it is. Two major differences apply to this year’s version of potential closer for the Cavaliers. First Cleveland was a five point home underdog last year in this exact spot and this year the opening number is a Pick, meaning the Cavs are better. The second and even more meaningful reason is LeBron James is a year older and certainly much, much better.

David Stern and the rest of the NBA hierarchy would never say, but you can take the last dollar in your pocket and bet they want Cleveland to win to set up current San Antonio dynasty against possibly another in the making. (Cleveland were getting away with fouls; even more so than at my local park in a pick game!) If a picture is worth a 1,000 words then King James ended up being just short of writing a book as long as War and Peace with his Game 5 performance and encore. If you watched you saw brilliance, if you didn’t, your loss and you have heard about it by now.

Last season in this exact position Detroit responded with a clutch effort in winning 84-82 and is 7-0 ATS in road games after two or more consecutive losses this season. Plus the Pistons are also 8-1 ATS in road games revenging a straight up loss vs. opponent as a home favorite.

This Cleveland club has a different look and feel about them. They wiped out Washington, took care of New Jersey on the road and have been in position to already end this series. The Cavaliers have upped their record to 11-1 ATS in last dozen outing versus teams with winning percentage of .600 or higher. Cleveland’s day of reckoning may be at hand, leaving Detroit feeling like another song off the CSN&Y album, Helpless.

I'm not a fan of either team, but I'll take the team that plays like one.

Hah! I am glad to see I am not the only one.
Actually, there are solid numbers to back it up.

Favoring: CLEVELAND against the spread.
Play On - Home favorites (CLEVELAND) - an average offensive team (92-98 PPG) against a good defensive team (88-92 PPG), after a combined score of 215 points or more
(42-16 since 1996.) (72.4%)

Favoring: CLEVELAND against the spread.
Play Against - Road underdogs (DETROIT) - a good team (60% to 75%) playing a team with a winning record, on Saturday games
(60-24 over the last 5 seasons.) (71.4%)

Cleveland:
15-6 ATS off a win by 6 points or less
17-6 ATS at home off 3+ wins

Great call on the 2nd half buddy; the setup couldn't have been any better.  Now let's go "all in" for San Antonio!  This Eastern team going to the final reminds me of when the Indiana Pacers playing the LA Lakers.  We'll see what a "non-sense" coach Greg Pop will give us.

Good luck to all.
