win picks advertises their winning percentage as 57% last year.  however, how does that break down in the different sports?  also, how many games did each sport pick and are those percentages derived from the defualt picks of the software?

thanks

    Chacha,

Actually we don't advertise a winning percentage with WinPicks.  Our web site (www.microbro.com/faq.htm)
offers this information about the WinPicks winning percentage.  Thanks for your post, and please let us now if you have more questions.

    ____________________________________

WinPicks uses prediction formulas to make selections, so your winning percentage depends entirely on the prediction formula that you use. WinPicks allows you to create as many new formulas as you wish, and includes a number of features designed to maximize your winning percentage:

=> WinPicks comes with three prediction formulas that picked about 60% against the point spead during the previous season.

=> All WinPicks users can share and trade formulas with documented records, using the Formula Warehouse. Access to the Formula Warehouse is included in all versions of WinPicks.

=> All versions of WinPicks include a Formula Tuner, which will optimize the performance of any formula to get the highest winning percentage possible.

=> The Pro Football Analyst software includes a formula wizard that can create formulas for you that are optimized to win.

=> All versions of WinPicks allow you to use the consensus picks generated by a group of formulas.
Because the winning percentage is based on the formula in use, and because of the very nature of handicapping and gambling, we obviously can't promise or guarantee that you'll win money with WinPicks. However, we can say that based on the feedback we get from our customers, we know that many WinPicks users have a winning percentage in the 55 to 60% range, and most do better than the 52.4% required to break even at most sportsbooks. We've received hundreds of compliments over the years from customers who have said that WinPicks has paid for itself many times over.

is not Microbro the same as winpicks (i.e., they produce winpicks)?

but anyway, I would like to know which sport I might be able to put the most faith in.  when it says 3 formulas picked 60%, I assume they should be able to tell me which ones?

    thanks

as a follow up to chacha's question, I am not sure his question was answered.  you replied

"we don't advertise a winning percentage with WinPicks.  Our web site (www.microbro.com/faq.htm)
offers this information about the WinPicks winning percentage."

is that not one and the same?

so, who would one ask regarding an advertised winning percentage?  but further, when it states

"WinPicks comes with three prediction formulas that picked about 60% against the point spead during the previous season."

how many is that out of?  30?  if so, by random chance that would happen.

its a little frustrating.  I was thinking I was getting a "proven" piece of software.  however, by experimenting, one can easily find some 46-23 'trend' that may not hold up over time.

so, is there at least one proven trend over the years that we can hang our hat on?

    thanks
