Ok Guys, I belong to only one other site and it is for about 6 years now since I found out how to use this toy. I'm the oldest guy there and what the hell I just might be the oldest guy here also. The reason for the 76 next to my handle is my age as I just turned it on 3/12/07.I just found this site and it looks like a good site to get some good info.As for my name, I go by "IL Duce" a name that I got in the service at the age of 17 when I was the only WOP in the whole damn outfit. IL Duce was Mussolini, who in his time was the Topdago so for the past 59 years I have had his name. Looking forward to a fine base ball season and some good handi capping. Till then Ciao & GL IL Duce

P.S I started booking numbers in Jr. high school in 1944 when most of you guys were still waiting to be born.So gambling is no problem, but a great way to help me spend my time in the winter of my life.

Hey Pix,

Can't remember if I did this awhile back or not but figured I'd give it a bump.

47 and recently retired from the gov't. Played golf all my life and been gambling for most of it. Love the crap tables. There is no game better than that. Thanks to everyone who helped clean this site up. It was getting pretty nasty when I left last time.

==== Hi ref ! Glad you enjoyed the thread.

At one time, I too enjoyed this thread ...............

Let me say this ........ THE THREAD did not "die" ........

It was KILLED ! by some ....... sabotaged by others (myself included) .........

Certain guys made enemies, which STILL run on to SOME degree ..... more or less ....

Some things were said, both publicly & privately that didn't sit well with the majority ....... respect was lost on both ends .........

I have never enjoyed this site, ....... since those disagreements, TO THE SAME POINT THAT I DID AT THE TIME I WAS FULLY INVOLVED HERE.

The entire site evolved ......... some think for the better, and it was better ....... in the respect that out and out madness disappeared ......... but out of the change came a different kind of problem ........

The forums became vanilla, or else ! Colorful posters became less involved, and still are ..........

Mike keeps it alive, I have great respect for him.

So ............

I'm still here, but I'm elsewhere ........

These are just my opinions ref, and hope you come back from time to time to try to restructure the thread .......... I have forgiven and moved on from the "bad times" I had at this forum ..........

I really have only a single poster at this forum that I cannot, and WILL NOT EVER AGREE with ........... by GOD's good graces our paths will never cross on this earth

At this point I will again update the thread I gave birth to, yet sabotaged .........

wow..I'm 59 now..that was 8 years ago this post was written..lol

pasted what I wrote 8 yrs ago.... this is one of the greatest posts ever....maybe we need an update post
just read what I wrote way back...back then their was so much "trash talking" going on...now there is none...

pix2click,I just saw your post about everyone's age.Pretty intresting and funny. You kind of get different perceptions of people here in TS yet you really don't know their ages.
I stay away from the Gen Discusion forum.Sometimes I'll peek in but I see all the red close captions and leave.I guess many of you are still going at it.At least you keep it here.Wish everyone could all live in peace. With everything going on around us in this world, you would think we could. Not trying to preach but just wish everyone could respect each other. Sorry about lecture.

Back to original topic.
I'm 51.Been a teacher,coach,athletic director,and school adminstrator since Jan/1974.Coached varsity b-ball for 23 yrs.

Started out gambling [like HT] flipping baseball cards. Was in 1st grade flipping '56 and '57 topps cards. Was a champion flipper and owened a 5 block area of the Bronx from Fordham Rd to Southern Blvd to[across the street from the Bronx zoo] 187th Street.
Yankee's were the kings yet my favorite card flipper were "the guys with the red P's on their hat."Loved the red P's.They became my favorite team.Imagine that.Born 14 blocks from Yankee stad. and I love Richie Ashburn, not Berra or Mantle.Grew up with Richie Allen,Jim Bunning,Callison,Short, etc. Those were my hero's as a teenager.

1st real gambling was going to Yonkers raceway as a teenager.1st football bet was the Jets +18 in the 69' super bowl.Always played the football sheets in school or at the local deli or in college at North Texas.Lost 200 times because of ties.Would circle 3 or 4 college football games, play about 5 or 6 tickets a week. And always seemed to lose because of a tie.I know their has to be one of you old farts out there that can relate to this.

Greatest things I saw in person in sports.Secretariet winning the Belmont, the 1960 Rome Olympics.Saw Rafer Johnson win the decathlon.Watched him win in the rain at nite with only 5,000 people still in the stad.My father took me to Madison sq garden in 62' or 63'where I saw "god" for the 1st time. His name was Oscar and he wore No.14.I'm sorry but I'll still debate anyone about Jordan vs the Big O.
Gotta run.My boy Matt Morris is going tonite.Mucho chalk to lay but he'll win.

Well
